Marty is an aspiring landscape, wildlife, and outdoors photographer inspired by the beauty of our country and a love for the outdoors. Along with his wife Laura and their English Pointer, Bristol, they love exploring the United States traveling and camping while spending time in nature.

Marty developed his interest in photography back in the film days before digital technology came along. After more than a 35 year absence, he “picked up” the hobby again on a 2019 trip to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

Since then, they have logged more than 8,000 miles and spent more than 60 nights in their travel trailer “roadie” pursuing landscape images throughout the South and Southeast.

Artist’s Statement

Pursuing the ever-changing light is what drives my photography. It is the light, the atmosphere, the mood, the subtle highlights, and shadows that I remember most about any location.

It is the essence of the land I seek out, whether it is a location within the urban jungle or the scenic vistas found in vast landscapes. The challenge is to capture the location in a way that the casual observer overlooks. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to get out and find locations where they can connect to nature, examine the world around them, and find beauty in unusual places.
